[For what it’s worth: Lately I’ve been thinking that from now on, moving forward, I should only post drawings on The Marfa Project that are of a highly spiritual, philisophical, meditative or personal nature. I know that might prove to be unworkably tiresome, but it’s still a good ambition to have etc.]

[It’s funny- the older I get, the more “mystical” pen and ink becomes for me. On a good day, it really does bring me closer to God. And the older I get, the more I want to share this feeling, this experience, with other people. Amen to that.]

Forty-eight-by-forty-eight’s.

MO1234
[48″x48″ Unfinished painting, back in my old Alpine, Texas studio, 2009]

I’ve been making four-by-four-foot “all over” canvases for over twenty years. Overall, it’s my preferred size for large pieces.

Sadly, I’ve not done many of them in the last decade; just one or two. Though when I do paint one, it’s a complete joy to me, a real treat.

I’ll still keep drawing on the business cards, of course. I’ll always do those…

[Check out my new book here.]
